My favorite thing about this scene wasn’t just the fact that they were there watching the group perform a song about self-acceptance.

My favorite thing about this scene is that these two characters are visibly fighting to accept themselves the way they are. Look at their faces. They don’t seem happy at all. They look like they’re devastaded. Devastaded because they see that everyone’s dealing with their own problems and accepting the way they were born and being happy about it after all, and they’re still torn and confused about the way they feel about themselves. These two characters have more in commom than any other couple of characters in the show. Santana and Dave are both closeted homossexuals, who cares about their appearances on the society —and that’s why they still haven’t accept themselves the way they are. Santana wants to be with Brittany, but she’s scared of what everyone will say. Santana truly loves Brittany, and that’s why she wore the shirt: because somewhere inside her, she knows she is a lesbian and someday she’ll have to accept it and live with it if she wanna be with Brittany. Dave only wants to stop pretending. Everything he does, every word he says: is a mask covering who he really is, and that’s tearing him apart already. He wants to be on top as well, which he knows won’t happen if the whole school knows he’s gay. At the same time he wants to be free, he need to stay on his cage, because he’s still not sure of what’s going to happen to him in the future. They’re both very insecure —and almost giving up. They really have the potential to make Glee even better than it already is. Because the society isn’t made (mainly) by gays who accept and love themselves. A big part of the gays/lesbians still hasn’t come out yet, and these two caracters are representing this large number of people and how they’re struggling to accept themselves how they are. I truly believe in their potential.

LOLz I didn’t blame Quinn here. It does seem absurd if you don’t know the details. Dave and Santana are two peas in a pod and she just as guilty as Karofsky is of bullying people. :P
